The material

Three ingredients.

Hide, thread and hardware. Everything after that is a decision about how long the piece should last.

Vegetable-tanned leather

Full-grain cowhide tanned with eco-friendly agents and finished with a water-based natural cream. It arrives pale and firm, then spends years darkening into a color that belongs to you.

Kutnu & waxed thread

Braided cord, waxed and prepared for hand sewing, so the stitching beds in and tightens with time. Inside many pieces: kutnu, a silk-cotton cloth woven on hand looms.

Uncoated brass

Left unplated, it ages to a deep umber and keeps pace with the leather. On some pieces the clasps are hand-cut from horn instead.

Hardware is repaired or replaced free for two years, and at material cost after that. Small parts we post out — only stitching work makes the trip.
